We have 5 main levels.
Family shiny: Easy/Beginners, Open logging roads, Uneven terrain
Standard 4x4: Medium, Bush rush, shallow ruts, shallow mud ponds, ascend and descent requiring momentum
Scratchy4x4: Hard, experience required (have done a few trip in lower levels in the past, to have a sound knowledge of your car and it is terrain behaviour), some extra equipment from time to time required (rock sliders, winch, some form of traction aid, like: lockers, Lsd, traction control), doable by any truck.
Club4x4: Extreme, experience a must, deep ruts, deep mud, step ascends/descends, panel aid bars highly recommended
Hard Yakka: Insanity, at this level is guarantee some form of damage, extreme winching, mud, ruts, 90 degree climbs, and more, not for the faint hearted and not for just any vehicle.
Trip to Orongorongo station
Just above Family shiny category,
Not suitable for low 4wd (crossover from car/suv), must have low ratio gear box and not be a car, Station Vagon or van (exception delica4x4)

On bad weather trip will be cancel, light drizzle to clearing up we go.
No damage lightly but some bush rush possible.

It will be an "Easy" trip sticking mostly to the MAIN ROADS through the forest. very very small chance of a bush rush.
Vehicles must have a low ratio gearbox and not be a 4wd car or 4wd van UNLESS IT IS A 4x4 LIKE MITSUBISHI DELICA or L200 with low gears/transfer case
Members: free
Visitors: $20 in CASH pay to the trip leader on the day.
DOGS OK, BUT they must be well behave, no jumping on people, no barking the whole way, and they can't go out chasing wild life, we can't stop, if it meets this requirements tag him along.

Dear Participants,
We invite you to join our 4x4 Training Day, specifically designed for individuals seeking to progress beyond the Family Shiny trip level and gain confidence in navigating challenging terrain with their vehicles.
Course Objectives
This comprehensive training course will cover the fundamentals of 4x4 driving, including vehicle control in various situations and scenarios within a controlled environment. Participants will learn essential skills to enhance their driving abilities and confidence.

We’re excited to invite you to a community conservation trip on 6 dec, in partnership with the Wellington City Council Join us for a trip around red rocks and an hour of meaningful action, fresh air, and community spirit. Then we continue on for some scenic wheeling and have some BBQ sausages
This trip will involve:
• Removing invasive plant species at Red Rocks to protect native flora;
Looking ahead, future trips will include:
• Installing protective barriers around seal colonies at Red Rocks;
Where: Red rocks track, over devil's gate.. seeing how we go for time will head out to Karori Stream
Who: Open to all club member vehicles. Passengers welcome but NO pets
